New Delhi: The Kejriwal government on Monday filed an affidavit on the Supreme Court's suggestion to impose a lockdown in Delhi. The government has said that Delhi is also ready if a lockdown is imposed across the NCR to check pollution. The Delhi government has told the court that they are ready to impose a lockdown, since the winds have no limits, so the central government should focus on imposing a lockdown in the entire NCR and surrounding states.  In its affidavit amid the hearing, the Delhi government said, "We are ready to take steps like a complete lockdown to control local emissions. But such steps will work only if they should be taken across NCR and neighbouring States also.

What has been the Centre's response in the Supreme Court? : The Central Government has told the Supreme Court that stubble burning is not a major cause of pollution in Delhi and eastern states as it contributes only 10 percent to pollution. The Supreme Court has asked the Center and the State Government whether they can curb the vehicles in addition to stopping the industries. In addition, the court has also sought information on power plants that can be stopped. The bench has given time till tomorrow evening to the Centre and the state government to file their replies.

What did the Supreme Court say? : A bench of Chief Justice NV Ramanna, Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Suryakant has said that we are in a state of crisis. The court said, they had told the Delhi government that we will not be able to deal with new issues like the constitution of a committee at present. The Central Government has given a detailed affidavit through which you can also give advice.  While it has been revealed that the Supreme Court has further reprimanded the Centre and the Delhi government, it has said that no meeting can be expected just as an emergency meeting was held on pollution. It is unfortunate that we have to set an agenda for them.
