The Delhi government has made a decision to make National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) the only entrance exam for entrance in medical courses this year onwards.

The Union Cabinet marked NEET on friday, 20 may, as the only qualifying entrace examination for government and private medical colleges.

About 6.5 lakh students have appeared for NEET 2016 phase 1 on May 1, 2016.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested the President Pranab Mukherjee to not sign the ordinance that calls for a delay of NEET this year .

Over 15 states were opposing NEET so far, it would now be interesting to see what the President's take on this shall be.
