Delhi Govt declares free travel in DTC cluster buses from 13-17 Nov

New Delhi [India], November 10 (NT): To support the use of public transport at a time odd even system will be implemented by the Delhi Government on Friday as a free travel in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses announced by Transport Minister.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot took to Twitter and wrote, "To encourage the use of public transport during #OddEven, Delhi govt to allow free travel for commuters in all DTC and Cluster buses from 13-17 November."

With the mount raise in the level of Air pollution in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal yesterday said the decision on 'Odd-Even ‘scheme will be practiced to manage the growing nuisance of pollution in the city.

The Delhi Metro will also augment the frequency of trains to push people to use the public transport due to discriminating pollution levels.

Pollution has reached devastating levels in Delhi, due to smog.

The city's air quality get worsted ahead of winter as cooler air traps pollutants near the ground, preventing them from dispersing into the atmosphere.
