New Delhi: A number of efforts are being made to reduce air pollution in the national capital. Meanwhile many big decisions have been taken. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai addressed a press conference on Wednesday. He said the Kejriwal government will completely ban construction work in the capital till November 21 over rising pollution. On the other hand, government departments have taken several important decisions, including 100 per cent work from home implementation.  At the same time, school colleges will remain completely closed until further orders.

In fact, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said in a press conference that from now on entry of trucks other than essential services has been banned in Delhi. Meanwhile, 1000 CNG private buses will be hired from tomorrow. It also sought permission to allow DDMA to travel by metro and bus. Also, a list of 10-year-old, 15-year-old vehicles in Delhi has been handed over to Delhi Police.

The Delhi government is running a variety of programmes to control pollution. In view of the rising pollution levels in Delhi, the Transport Department has intensified its drive against polluting trains. Pollution control certificates at petrol pumps are being examined by PUC as part of the pollution prevention drive. At the same time, an invoice of Rs. 10,000 is now being deducted while filling petrol at petrol pumps without pollution under control certificate. For this, the Transport Department has deployed civil defence volunteer teams at a large number of petrol pumps.
