The Delhi government on Monday sanctioned around Rs. 20 crores to four colleges affiliated to the Delhi University (DU) for the payment of the outstanding wages of their employees, which included the teaching and non-teaching staff of the colleges. As per the government order, Aditi Mahavidyalaya will get Rs 6.46 crore, Bhagini Nivedita College will get Rs 7.70 crore and Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies will receive Rs 5.24 crore for the payment of pending of their employees.
"I am directed to convey sanction for release of funds of Rs 19.40 crore and Rs 1.675 crore under salary and other than salary heads for payment of outstanding salaries to four Delhi University colleges funded by Delhi government," Deputy Director of Higher Education Narender Passi said in the official order.
Last week, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that some colleges affiliated with Delhi University have not been paying the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff in spite of having sufficient funds with them.
