Delhi HC Chief Justice tested positive for coronavirus

Coronavirus surge has curb the national capital to take important measures as a precaution. The impact of second wave had affected the functioning at Delhi High Court too. Chief Justice D.N Patel and three other High Court judges have unfortunately tested positive for COVID during this week.

The news agency PTI has quoted about the chief justice asymptomatic and also has informed that otherwise he is doing fine. Chief Justice Patel has not been holding the court since April 12. Justice Jasmeet Singh wasn't doing well with his health so as a precaution Justice Patel has also at rest. Similarly, two other judges also have not been hearing the cases since earlier this week after testing positive. The Delhi High Court resumed it's physical hearing from March 15 but due to second wave they decided to again adopt the virtual mode of proceedings from April 9 to April 23 in view of an alarming rise of cases. Now, after four of the judges have tested positive the medical team of the Delhi government’s Health Department will conduct Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Tests at the High Court premises.

However, the testing is voluntary. Previously also such test was conducted in the campus as a concern from the health department.
