Delhi High Court directs NDMC to plant 100 trees, donate 5 footballs

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court directed the Deputy Health Officer (DHO) to donate five footballs each to four Delhi government schools and plant 100 trees for the delay in the compensation to a man who had suffered 64% disability after being hit by a civic agency's vehicle.

According to the report, The order was passed by the Justice Najmi Waziri passes after the DHO expressed regret over the delay. He voluntarily took some social work. including plant trees and encourage sports activities amongst school children.

The order came aftera plea by Shashi Chandan was filed, where she had sought the release of compensation after his right hand was amputated up to his wrist. The Chauhan was hit a civic agency vehicle in 2007.

As per the report of  Hindustan Times, the court has also directed the commissioner of the North MCD to enquire into the delay in releasing the money to the disabled person. The judge has asked the commissioner to file an affidavit in the case before the next hearing on what action should be taken against the DHO who has failed to dispense the money.
