Delhi HC sends notice to Central government over new Aadhaar card number

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued notices to the Central government and UIDAI seeking a new Aadhaar card number filed by a businessman seeking a reply. In fact, a businessman in the Delhi High Court has filed a petition saying that his Aadhaar card was illegally used without his permission. He said in his petition that his Aadhaar card was linked to some foreign entities.

In such a situation, the trader fears that his Aadhaar card may be misused to fake. That's why he's approached the court. The court of Justice Rekha Palli, while hearing the case, issued notices to the central government and the aadhar card issuing department UIDAI asking them to file their replies. The court will hear the case next on September 9.

Petitioner Rajan Arora, who deals in export of clothes, has appealed to the court to issue directions to the Centre and UIDAI to issue another Aadhaar card in the name of the petitioner to protect his fundamental right to privacy and prevent misuse of Aadhaar card.
