New Delhi: A hearing was held in the Delhi High Court on Monday over the new privacy policy brought by WhatsApp. It was appealed by the petitioner that the government should take action in relation to this policy, which is a violation of privacy. However, the Delhi High Court has not issued any notice in the matter and said it requires a detailed hearing. The case will now be heard on January 25.

The petitioner has said in the court that the government should take stringent steps, which is a violation of the privacy of the people. A private app like WhatsApp wants to share personal information of the common people, which needs to be curbed. There was a strong comment from the Delhi High Court. The court said that it is a private app, if your privacy is being affected, you can delete WhatsApp. The court said do you use a map or a browser?  Your data is also shared in it.

The court has appealed on behalf of the petitioner to enact a stringent law in the matter. European countries have stringent laws, so WhatsApp's policy is different and such apps have no problem with the third-party sharing of data of ordinary people because of the lack of stringent laws in India.
