District Disaster Management Authority has extended the curfew till June. The decision is taken over the movement of individuals except for essential activities in Delhi till 5 am on June 7.
The revised guidelines instruct companies to resume business with strict adhereance to COVID-19 precautions. Apart from essential activities, personnel and associated staff, offices, factories and constructions will get open with staggered shifts. Government staff, healthworkers and media persons have already got relaxations. Special e-passes issued for those working in grocery stores, engaged in delivery of food, restaurant staff, courier services etc. Earlier, in a meeting with Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the time for unlock has come. He asserted that Delhiites have suffered a lot during this Covid pandemic, and also due to a month-long lockdown. The working as labourer and daily wage earner have lost their livelihood. In the same regard government will unlock state in phases and with every phase decisions will change according to situation.
Delhi has been witnessing a drop in daily coronavirus cases. On Saturday, the Capital recorded 956 new infections and 122 deaths. While this was the first time since March 22 that Delhi’s daily cases fell below 1,000. Taking about the nation coronavirus update, India reported 1,73,790 new coronavirus cases on Saturday morning, taking the overall tally to 2,77,29,247 since the pandemic first broke out in January 2020.
