The rainfall in the eastern part of the country is continuously increasing and the monsoon has moved forward to eastern Uttar Pradesh. After which it has been estimated to reach Delhi in the next 1 to 2 days for which it was estimated to be 15th June. But the monsoon has not hit Delhi so far. Moreover, the Met Ministry has now changed its estimates and said that the monsoon in Delhi will be delayed by 7 to 10 days. This means that this week too, the surrounding areas, including Delhi-NCR, are facing scorching heat and humidity.

Kuldeep Srivastava, Head, Regional Forecast Centre, Ministry of Weather said, "We are now anticipating a delay of 7 to 10 days in the onset of monsoon. At present, there is no monsoon activity in western UP. The area is under low air pressure. Due to which the air coming from the east is getting affected." At present, the monsoon winds are reaching East UP. We are not seeing any progress in North West India in the next 7 to 10 days. Though the storm-like situation may be seen several times, the humidity is decreasing.

In view of the high monsoon speed last week, the Met Ministry had predicted rainfall in Delhi between June 12 and 15. It is expected to get rid of the heat, but the capital and its surroundingareas remained rough. Monsoon usually reaches Delhi by June 27. The wait for rain for Delhi-NCR is increasing once again. It has been learnt that delhi has been hot and humid for the past several days. There have been several scattered rains and thunderstorms, but no long session has been observed so far.
