New Delhi: With the implementation of the lockdown in the country , the wheels of the metro train called Lifeline of Delhi, the capital of the country, were stopped. Now after almost six months, Delhi Metro is ready to return to the track once again and run. Delhi Metro will start operations on Chhatarpur-Samaypur Badli route on September 7.
Before the Metro started operating, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot reached Rajiv Chowk metro station and inquired about the preparations. After reviewing the preparations at the Rajiv Chowk metro station, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that the rules of social distancing will be ensured. He said that all preparations have been completed for this.
Gehlot further said that all the guidelines issued by the central government will be followed to start operating the metro. Thermal screening of passengers will be done outside the station. The luggage of the passengers will also be sanitized. He also said that passengers will not use tokens to travel in the metro. Metro card will also be recharged online. Gehlot further said that those who do not follow the rules will be taken legal action under the Delhi Disaster Management Act (DDMA).
