Services of Delhi Metro to be partially curtailed on Republic Day

New Delhi: The Metro service in Delhi will be changed for a short period of time due to security reasons on Republic Day. The ban will be held at selected stations. In addition, Metro parking will also remain closed for about 30 hours. The Delhi Metro has issued notification for the same. According to information received from Delhi Metro, the Metro service will be partially stopped at line-2 (Huda city centre-Timepur Badli).

On 26th January, the central secretariat, Udyog Bhawan Metro station on this route will remain closed till 12.00 noon. The Central Secretariat will be able to use the metro station to passenger for interchange. Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station will remain closed from 9 am to 12 noon for entry and exit. The Delhi Metro said that due to security reasons, the parking of Delhi Metro will also remain closed from 6 am to 2 pm on 26th January. All the remaining services of Delhi Metro will continue without interruption.

Every year, 26th January means a grand parade is held at Rajpath on the Republic Day of India. Due to this, security is increased at nearby metro stations. The parade is also being withdrawn after corona infection this year. The 72 Republic Day will see the hue of 32 tableaux this time.
