NEW DELHI: A 7-year-old girl was sexually harassed by her neighbour in Delhi's Gulabi Bagh area, and the the accused has been arrested, police said on Saturday, March 11.
As per reports, a neighbour of a seven-year-old girl in Delhi's Gulabi Bagh neighbourhood sexually harassed the child, and the suspect has now been taken into custody. On Wednesday night at 10.29 pm., the Gulabi Bagh police station received a call in conection with a quarrel following which a team was dispatched to the spot.
"The victim along with her mother came to the police station and the mother said that her seven-year-old daughter studying in class 2, complained that their neighbour Badrinath, aged around 60-year-old, was sexually harassing her for the past 8-10 days," a senior police official said.
"On Wednesday, he removed her clothes and touched her private parts. The woman confronted the accused after the girl told her mother about the incident, and the two got into an argument "the official stated.
A case has been registered under IPC section 376 and POCSO Act section 6.
"To check the crime scene, the forensic science laboratory and crime teams were summoned to the location. The victim underwent medical evaluation as well "the official said.
