NEW DELHI: A magnitude 6.1 earthquake was experienced in the Delhi-NCR region and rest of northern India on Wednesday at around 12:40 pm.
The epicenter of this earthquake was in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan.

The shaken of earthquake was also felt in the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, central Afghanistan, Pakistan and eastern Uzbekistan.

The Earthquake struck 270 km (167 miles) northeast of Kabul in the Hindu Kush mountains, at a deep 180 km, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre .

Tremors were experienced in parts of north India, including Srinagar and the national capital New Delhi on Wednesday afternoon after an earthquake hit Afghanistan. USGS reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1 and the epicentre was in the Hindukush region.

The tremors in the national capital region lasted for well over a minute. Reports from Srinagar said the tremors were exhaustive and people were seen coming out of their offices and homes soon after. in Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and New Delhi also e witnessed Similar scenes.

Initial reports said Pakistan has also experienced stern to moderate tremors during the aforesaid period.
