New Delhi: Now honking can also cost you dearly. For this, under the amendments made in the Motor Vehicles Act, you can be fined up to Rs 12,000. If a bike, car or any other vehicle uses a pressure horn, it can be fined under the Motor Vehicles Act. According to Rule 39/192 of the Motor Vehicles Act, there is a provision to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 on the use of a pressure horn. If you have honked this horn in a restricted or silent zone, then a fine of another Rs 2,000 can be imposed on you. So use the horn wisely to avoid such a heavy fine.

Until now, bike or scooter/scooty drivers used to consider themselves safe from the challan by putting the helmet in the head of any bus, but now if the strip of their helmet is found open, they will be fined. Under this violation, the driver can be fined Rs 1,000. This will be done under 194D of the Motor Vehicles Act. Even if the helmet is not BSI marked, you can be charged a fine of Rs 1,000 under 194D. That is, even after wearing the helmet, if these shortcomings are found in it, you will still be fined.
