Delhi: Petition filed for display of availability of oxygen, and ventilator bed outside hospital

A petition has been filed in the High Court seeking display of information like beds, ventilators, and oxygen cylinders available for covid patients in all government and private hospitals in the capital Delhi on a large board. The petitioner said that there is continuous misinformation on the Delhi government's website and patients are facing a lot of trouble due to it. Therefore, all these things should be indicated in front of every hospital on a large board where corona patients are being treated.

The petition has been filed by a nursing officer on behalf of the orthodox Christian Medical Fellowship in the Delhi High Court. The petitioner has requested the court to direct the Delhi government to issue a circular to all hospitals under it immediately to do so. The petitioner has to say that patients and doctors in hospitals are facing a lot of problems due to covid.

The petitioner argues that patients are deprived of beds despite having beds in many hospitals. In addition, there is a problem in the hospital with regard to oxygen. How much oxygen is present with which hospital, which should also be shared on the display board? The petitioner has asked the court to make it mandatory for all hospitals to provide information related to beds, ventilators, oxygen on the display board and also to update the hospital information, which should also be monitored by the court.

The petitioner alleges that the mobile application run by the Delhi government is not displaying real-time information, so the need for such display boards is more outside the hospital. Such a circular is already effective in the State of Karnataka. Out of this, it is necessary to be implemented in Delhi also. Though guidelines were issued by the Delhi government to the hospital for the installation of display boards, they are still not being strictly followed by the hospitals.
