Asthana was made Delhi police commissioner with a one-year extension just 3 days before he retired. Asthana is the 23rd Commissioner of Delhi Police. Rakesh Asthana was retiring as BSF DG on July 31, but was suddenly not only given a one-year extension but also made Delhi police commissioner.
