New Delhi: The National Capital Delhi Police has arrested a criminal after exposing the conspiracy to murder Mahant Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati. Yati Narasimhananda is the mahant of Shiv Shakti Peeth at Dasna in Ghaziabad adjoining Delhi. The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Monday arrested Jan Mohammad Dar alias Jahangir from a hotel in Paharganj. Saffron cloth has also been recovered from him.

According to reports, he had brought the betel nut of Yati Narasimhananda Saraswati's murder. He is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir and was taking instructions from his uncles in Pakistan. He was sent to carry out the massacre by a gangster of jaish-e-mohammed, a terror group sitting in a neighbouring country. He had to enter the temple in the guise of a sadhu and kill Mahant Yati Narasimhananda Saraswati. Delhi Police has recovered a pistol and 2 magazines as well as 15 cartridges from him. He has informed the interrogation about one of his uncles named Abid who was directing him from Pakistan. Jahangir used to stay in touch with him through WhatsApp. Abid had shown him a video of Mahant Yati Narasimhananda Saraswati and then instigated him to kill him. Jahangir was also trained to fire weapons for this purpose. Abid had also talked about giving money when the work was done.

Jahangir reportedly left Kashmir for Delhi only on April 23, 2021. A man named Omar was waiting for him in Delhi to meet him. Omar and Jahangir were in touch with each other through telegrams. It was Omar who took the responsibility of arranging for him to stay in Delhi. 35,000 was also deposited in jahangir's bank account on the same day as he left for Delhi. Tell me, Delhi Police is still interrogating Jahangir in which many new secrets could be revealed. Tell us that the way puja material, kalava and kumkum were recovered from the accused, it is clear that he could have been able to enter the temple in the guise of a monk. In Lucknow, Hindu leader Kamlesh Tiwari was also killed by the accused in saffron clothes.
