Delhi Police arrests 2 lakh bounty terrorists

Srinagar: A Special Cell of Delhi Police from Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir has arrested a terrorist of Jaish-e-Mohammed. The Delhi Police had announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh on the terrorist. The arrested terrorist is being named as Bashir Ahmed. The terrorist was arrested in 2007 after an encounter with the Delhi Police but was acquitted by the trial court.

He was then sentenced by the High Court. He did not appear in the High Court since he was granted bail. The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against the terrorist. On Tuesday, the Special Cell of Delhi Police detained it from Srinagar. Two of its accomplices were detained by the Delhi Police earlier this year, namely Fayaz and Majid Baba.

According to Delhi Police, Jaish-e-Mohammed's terrorist Fayaz, Majid Baba and Bashir Ahmed were acquitted by a lower court in Delhi. But the High Court later found all three guilty. All three disappeared after being convicted. After which a non-bailable warrant was issued against the three. Majid was arrested by the Special Cell this year.
