NEW DELHI: In a major counter-terrorism operation, Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a terror network linked to Al-Qaeda, arresting 14 individuals from three states—Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. This action was taken based on intelligence inputs and was carried out in coordination with state police forces.

The terror module was reportedly led by a man identified as Dr. Ishtiyaq, who is from Ranchi, Jharkhand. The group aimed to declare a 'khilafat' in the country and had been planning serious terrorist activities. The individuals involved had undergone training in various locations, particularly in weapon handling.

Six of the arrested individuals were detained in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, during a weapons training session. Another eight people were picked up from different locations in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. The detainees are currently being interrogated, and authorities anticipate making more arrests as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, ongoing raids are being conducted to recover weapons, ammunition, and important documents related to the group's activities.
