New Delhi: The crime branch unit of the Delhi Police has busted a fake call centre running from Peeragadhi, Delhi. The police arrested a total of 42 people in this case, including 16 women. Along with this, the police have also seized 90 electronic devices from the call centre. According to the cyber cell, these people used to hunt foreigners sitting in Peeragadhi, Delhi, they used to call themselves Law and Enforcement Agency.
According to the information, these people have so far made 3500 people a victim of their own fraud and have cheated them of about 70 crores. Police say that the electronic devices recovered from them, which have a computer hard disk and mobile phone, will be clear from how long these people were doing this work. Delhi Police Cyber Cell says that they were informed that a fake call centre is being run from Piragadhi.
When the police team reached the spot, the police saw that the owner of the fake call centre and 41 other people were present there. Which included 16 women. Most of them were people who used to call people from call centres. These people used to call foreign nationals themselves as members of different law enforcement agency and told the person in front that their purse or any of their belongings were found on the crime scene. Along with this, it is said that to intimidate them, it has come to their knowledge that money from the front bank account has been transferred to the drug cartel. After the fear of the victim, their work became easy and these people used to take money from him.
