New Delhi: Two youths returning home in Delhi's Sangam Vihar area were attacked by 7-8 people simultaneously. Jatin, 24, lost his life while his accomplice Pankaj was injured. Police have arrested one of the accused Ramzan Ali after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced. A search is on for his accomplices. The incident took place on December 19, 2021 (Sunday).

According to media reports, Jatin and Pankaj have been attacked with stones by miscreants. The two were hit by miscreants on the ground till the two fainted. The accused also looted 3,000 rupees from the victims. The two victims were later thrown into the drain and fled. People passing by informed the police about the incident. Police admitted the two injured to the trauma center. Jatin succumbed to his injuries on December 22 during treatment. Jatin was reportedly unemployed and lived with his family in the F block colony of Sangam Vihar. He was returning home from his friend Sachin's brother's birthday party on the day of the incident. At around 2 pm, while he was walking with Pankaj, Ramzan and his accomplices fatally attacked him in Street No. 3.

Confirming the case, ADCP Harsh Vardhan said that a case of robbery and attempt to murder was registered. After Jatin's death, a section of 302 IPC is now being added to it. Ramzan Ali has been arrested. The remaining absconding accused are being searched and will be arrested soon.
