New Delhi: Delhi has appointed a new coach and bowling coach for the Ranji team. KP Bhaskar has been made the coach of Delhi's senior Ranji team. Rajkumar Sharma has been appointed bowling coach for the 2019-2020 domestic season. Sharma has been Virat's childhood coach. Bhaskar was the coach of Delhi in the 2017-18 season and the team then lost against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy final in Indore. During the domestic tournament in Odisha, however, he lost his coach position after a public debate with Gautam Gambhir.

The former India opener accused Bhaskar of trying to promote factionalism in the form of dressing and trying to end the career of some young players. Mithun Manhas replaced Bhaskar in the 2018-19 season but the team did not perform very well during this period. Bhaskar has also been a former Delhi Ranji player and scored 5443 runs in 95 first-class matches with the help of 18 centuries.

He was a member of the Delhi team that won the Ranji title in the 1988–89 season and also played the final against Bengal the following year. Dronacharya Award winner Sharma is known as the first and only personal coach of Indian captain Virat Kohli. He played nine first-class and three List A matches for Delhi from 1986 to 1991.
