New Delhi: Former Supreme Court Judge Justice Madan B Lokur has made strong remarks about Delhi Police. He said, in the case of anti-CAA student activists Devangana Kalita, Natasha Narwal, and Asif Iqbal Tanha, the police have violated the principle of natural justice at every step. He also said that Delhi Police is working like Amitabh Bachchan in the film 'Shahanshah.'

Talking to the media, he said that how several FIR was registered against the accused, and the way Devangana was arrested from a virtual courtroom on May 24 last year, had not happened before in Indian judicial history. He compared the situation to Amitabh Bachchan's film Shahanshah in which Villain is 'accidentally' hanged inside a court. He said it is a violation of every principle of natural justice and fairness.

Devangana, who was arrested on 23rd May last year, was granted bail during an online hearing on 24th May but was immediately arrested in another case. He also questioned the police handing over copies of the 9,000-page charge sheet to the accused in pen drive.
