Helicopter scam: Kamal Nath's nephew Ratul Puri may get arrested, anticipatory bail plea dismissed

NEW DELHI: The anticipatory bail plea of Ram Kamal Nath's nephew Ratul Puri has been dismissed by the Rause Avenue Court today.  At the same time , the court has ordered Ratul Purvey to cooperate with the investigation . Puri had filed an anticipatory bail petition on July 27 in the wake of the arrest in the case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) wants to take him into custody and interrogate him.

Senior advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vijay Aggarwal, on behalf of Ratul Puri before the court, had said that their family was continuously cooperating in the investigation. He told the court that he had been involved in the investigation more than 25 times and had been questioned for nearly 200 hours. In addition, he has given all the documents related to the case to the ED.

Puri is the nephew of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath and is accused of money laundering in the VVIP helicopter scam case. When Puri's lawyer requested to withdraw the petition, Justice Sunil Gaud allowed it and dismissed it. The trial court had reserved its verdict on Puri's anticipatory bail plea on August 2 and said it would be pronounced on the 6th of august.
