New Delhi: According to the serosurvey conducted by the Delhi government, Delhi's population is moving towards strong immunity against coronavirus. According to the survey, 50 to 60% of the people in a district of Delhi have developed antibodies against coronavirus. This directly means that these 50 to 60% of the people inadvertently came to the grip of the coronavirus, but were cured without any difficulty, while in the rest of the districts, 50% of the people found in which antibodies have been found.

Through the ongoing vaccination campaign in the country, the authorities are trying to get the same herd immunisation in which people with good immunity can stop the spread of the virus by breaking the chain of infection. Delhi has a population of more than 2 crores and in this survey conducted by the Delhi government in collaboration with the National Centre for Disease Control, scientists had sampled 28 thousand people from different districts of the city.

Official figures from the Health Ministry said that only 6.33 lakh people have been found infected in Delhi, but the Sero survey has indicated that the figure could be more than 1 crore. In the first serosurvey conducted between June 27 and July 10, the researcher used 21,387 samples and found that 23% of the people were exposed to the virus. The figure rose to 29.1% in August.
