New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 advocated a campaign against single plastic use in the country. This gradually began to affect other departments of the government and the state governments. Apart from this, the industry also supported it. Now gurdwaras of Delhi have also joined this campaign. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has announced today i.e. Wednesday that things made of single plastic use have been banned in 11 gurdwaras run by it. The announcement was made by DSGMC head Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

He said that plates, glass, spoons and polythene bags included in items made of single plastic use along with thermocol will also be banned in the gurdwaras. He told that since October 2, things made of single plastic use are banned in Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. It is our endeavour that the gurdwaras operated by DSGMC in Delhi do not use plastic items. Manjinder Singh Sirsa also said that we have announced this after providing the substitute of plastic here.
