Delhi Suffers from low visibility, air and rail traffic disrupted

New Delhi: Delhi, On Friday, is suffering from air pollution by thick fog that caused by coal burning and vehicular exhaust. Due to that low visibility problems occurs and ten trains were delayed in the morning aside minimum temperature recorded at 7 Degrees Celsius. Apart from it, Fights into and out of Delhi were delayed and diverted from 5:30 am to 7:00 am due to the visibility issue.

The System of Air- Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) reported that “In Delhi, the environment is heavily polluted and the Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 level was recorded at 146 while the PM 10 was docking at 233.”

People have been advised to avoid outdoor activities and indoor activities. SAFAR advisory report said that “ asthmatics patients, keep medicines handy and sensitive group must stop outdoor activity at early morning and after sunset. If medically required than only go for a short walk instead of jog and take more breaks, avoid continues or heavy exertion. Try to avoid open doors and windows of the room.”

While, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports say that, “Million lives can be saved if all the countries reduce the menace of air pollution.” WHO presented this report at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24) in Katowice last month.

Delhi air pollution problem is consistently increasing that impact on raising health issues simultaneously,   and Climate change has a serious impact on human lives and health. It threatens basic needs for good health as air, safe drinking water, notorious food supply etc.
