New Delhi: A constable was attacked by five men when he arrived in Najafgarh to resolve a dispute after a light collision between a car and a scooter. Meanwhile, a youth also attacked the constable with a knife and tore his uniform. The injured constable somehow called the police. Police have registered a case at Chhawla police station and initiated action.

According to a police official, a case has been registered on the complaint of constable Dharmendra. Constable Dharmendra (39) is posted at Najafgarh police station. He left for his home at 9.30 pm on September 25. Meanwhile, he saw a crowd at Rao Mansingh School, Papravat Road. It was found that a scooter and a car collided slightly. Because of which 2 people are quarrelling among themselves.  After which the constable asked the scooter driver to put his scooter on the side. The scooter driver started arguing with the constable over this.

Meanwhile, the scooter driver picked up the light stand from a nearby vegetable cart and hit it towards the constable. The constable then proceeded to stop the said person. But in the meantime, the accused picked up the knife and attacked the constable's right hand and injured him. Meanwhile, three accomplices of the criminal also rushed to the spot and caught hold of the constable and started beating him. All of them tore his uniforms together. Amidst this, a man tried to intervene. Meanwhile, the PCR van reached the spot and the accused fled from there. According to police, a search is on for the accused.
