The Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisory in lieu of a mega public meeting by farmers and workers at iconic Ramlila maidan on Wednesday. The national capital receives continuous rains, but instead of this lakhs of people are likely to be present at the rally in being organized under the banner of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS).

The motive of rally is to protest against the "anti-people" policies of the BJP-led NDA government, AIKS said earlier.

“Traffic will be diverted as and when required at Delhi Gate, Paharganj Chowk, Monto Road, Barakhambha Road, KG Marh, Janpath and Copernicu Marg, an advisory issued by the Delhi police said.

The farmers' organization stated farmers, workers and their families would take part in the rally, where the future course of their great effort would be declared. The rally would give a call to put together the Left and democratic political alternatives at all-India level based on optional policies for people's development.

AIKS general-secretary Hannan Mollah told reporters in the national capital that as part of the ongoing struggle against the neo-liberal policies and misrule of the PM Modi led government, a huge rally of 5 lakh people will be held  today in Delhi.

This will be the first worker-farmer rally since the India got independence and the largest rally of the Left democratic forces attended by CITU, AIKS and AIAWU, he further said.
