New Delhi: The weather in North India is being influenced by western disturbances. Hilly states are experiencing snowfall, so rain activity is expected to increase amid fog and cold in the plains. The Met department (IMD) is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall in most states of north India during the three days.

While the country's capital Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are predicted to receive light rainfall, parts of Madhya Pradesh are predicted to get wet with heavy rains. This is expected to bring down the temperature once again. According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, there is an area of cyclonic winds over southwest Rajasthan. The Met department has predicted rain in Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Khatoli in Uttar Pradesh and Kurukshetra, Karnal, Jind, Panipat and adjoining areas of Haryana in the next few hours. In Bihar, dense fog has affected many lights while heavy snowfall in Kashmir has affected the movement of flights in Srinagar.

The Met department has predicted that the weather from western Uttar Pradesh will change from this evening. Cloudy sky will increase the temperature during the middle of the day, but the cold will remain intact. Meanwhile, rain is expected at some places amid the movement of clouds, but the state is yet to get a slight respite from the cold wave.
