According to the media report, the state unit of the party can be asked to organize a program to carry out a peace tour in the affected areas and to increase communal harmony. Meanwhile, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to come forward to ensure peace and brotherhood, rising above party politics. He told reporters, 'This is Gandhi, Nehru, Patel's India. Can any Indian accept this violence unintentionally? Congress appeals to the people of Delhi to maintain communal harmony and thwart all attempts to divide the country on the basis of religion.' Referring to the violence continued for the third consecutive day in north-east Delhi, he said that the incidents of violence, stone-pelting, and murder in the national capital have shaken the country.

On this matter, Surjewala said, "We strongly condemn these riots and demand that the culprits be identified and strict action should be taken against the real culprits and mischievous elements". On the other hand, Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram criticized the central government for the Delhi violence, saying that people are paying the price to bring insensitive and short-sighted leaders to power. Chidambaram tweeted, 'The violence and loss of life and property in Delhi is the most shocking and should be strongly condemned. We warned that the CAA is deeply divisive.
