According to sources, the interim president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi, has discussed the current situation in the capital with Shakti Singh Gohil, in-charge of the party's Delhi unit. The status of the capital and the steps of the government to control it have been discussed in the working committee meeting.

Meanwhile, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to come forward to ensure peace and brotherhood, rising above party politics. He told reporters, 'This is Gandhi, Nehru, Patel's India. Can any Indian accept this violence unintentionally?
