New Delhi: There was a serious threat of pollution in Delhi on the morning after Diwali. In fact, the Air Quality Index (AQI), which tells the air quality after the overnight fireworks in Delhi-NCR, has reached the category of very poor (very poor). Delhi's AQI went into the Red Zone due to fireworks late in the night. Let us tell you how the air quality in Delhi changed in the last 36 hours can be understood from the figures. Yes, on Sunday evening, Delhi's AQI was 259. This was the purest air of the last seven years in Delhi.

In the year 2018, Delhi's AQI was recorded at 281 on the day of Diwali. However, this year as the evening of Diwali approached, the AQI became alarming. At the same time, the AQI of Delhi increased to 301 at 8 am on Monday. After that, on Tuesday morning, the average AQI of Delhi went to 323, although in different areas of Delhi, the AQI in the morning was beyond three and a half hundred. With this, the figure has crossed 400 in many places. Let us tell you that in giving relief from pollution to Delhi, the wind direction contributed, which carried the smoke from the firecrackers away from Delhi.

On Tuesday night, Delhi's air was 10 times more polluted than normal and according to real-time data of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, the air in Jahangirpuri, Delhi on Diwali night i.e. at 10:30 pm on Monday night was 10 times more polluted than normal. During this time the AQI of Jahangirpuri had reached 770.

Let us also tell you that AQI between zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400' Very poor' and an AQI between 401 and 500 is considered 'severe'. After that today i.e. at 6.30 am on Tuesday morning, AQI was recorded in this way in major places of Delhi NCR.

With this, AQI was recorded 322 in Mathura Road, Noida 342, Delhi Airport 354, Delhi University 365, Delhi IIT 354, and Ayanagar 306. Let us tell you that on Monday evening, despite the ban in many areas of Delhi, firecrackers started bursting. Here the air condition in Delhi could have been worse but the trend of the winds gave relief to Delhi-NCR. In fact, according to the Meteorological Department, the pollution level reached a peak in most places of Delhi at midnight, but after 1 pm the pollution level started decreasing.
