New Delhi: The amount of ammonia in Yamuna water has increased and it is likely to disrupt drinking water (Delhi Water Crisis) supply in Delhi today i.e. The production of drinking water (Water Treatment Plants) from Sonia Vihar, Wazirabad, Bhagirathi, Chandrawal and Okhla treatment plants will reportedly be affected during this period. Let me tell all of you that the level of ammonia in river Yamuna reached 3 ppm, 0. 5 ppm and normal level and 0. Water treatment plants can treat water only the amount of ammonia up to 5 ppm. The rising level of ammonia has affected water production and pumping at Sonia Vihar, Bhagirathi, Chandrawal and Okhla water treatment plants.

On the other hand, the Delhi government has blamed Haryana for the rising ammonia levels in yamuna. In fact, the Delhi Jal Board has said in a statement, "The amount of ammonia in yamuna water has increased. This will prevent five major water treatment plants in Delhi from functioning at their full capacity. As a result, water supply will be affected in several parts of East Delhi and South Delhi on Sunday morning and evening. People in many areas are likely to face water scarcity on Sunday. On the other hand, Greater Kailash MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj has also issued a statement saying, "People have been informed about the rising level of ammonia in Yamuna. '

In a statement issued by the Delhi Jal Board last Saturday, the Delhi Jal Board had said, "The capacity of Sonia Vihar, Bhagirathi, Wazirabad, Chandrawal and Okhla water treatment plants has been affected due to increased ammonia pollution in river Yamuna. Further, the statement added, "Water supply is expected to be affected in areas falling under East Delhi, North-East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Malviya Nagar PPP areas on Saturday evening and Sunday morning and evening. '
