Delhi to get drenched for next three days, know weather dept's update

New Delhi: Several parts of the national capital, Delhi, received torrential rains on Wednesday. The Palam region of Delhi recorded the highest rainfall of 92.4 mm. Due to this, Delhiites have got a lot of relief from the sultry heat. According to the MET department, rain is also expected in different parts of Delhi on Thursday.

It was sunny in most parts of Delhi since Wednesday morning which intensified as the day progressed. From ten o'clock in the morning, people started suffering from heat and humidity. The situation remained like this till about 12.30 o'clock. People were forced to wipe their sweat. Then thick dark clouds started covering different parts of Delhi. Along with this, there was heavy rain in many areas of Delhi. For the past several days, people were troubled by the humidity and heat. But, people have got a lot of relief from this rain that has soaked the whole of Delhi. Delhi's Standard Observatory Safdarjung recorded the day's maximum temperature of 35.1 degrees Celsius, which is the normal temperature of the season. Whereas, the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal. The humidity level here ranged from 100 to 69 per cent.

At the same time, the MET department has predicted that Delhi may receive light to moderate rain in the coming three days. A yellow alert has also been issued by the Meteorological Department for Thursday. Due to rain, people will get relief from the sultry heat. On Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 27 degrees Celsius.
