Delhi being one of the highly affected cities crossed 5000 mark for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. October 28 as the national capital witnessed a sudden spike in cases in the past few days the number increased to 5,673. The health department said the national capital recorded 5,673 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike here till date, taking the total caseload to over 3.7 lakh.
Pollution dangerous for patients recovered from coronavirus
40 new fatalities were recorded, and the death toll in the national capital increased to 6,396. The previous highest single-day spike of 4,853 cases was recorded on Tuesday, October 27. The number of cases on Monday and Sunday are 2832 and 4136 respectively and that of Saturday and Friday are 4,116 and 4,086 respectively.

Out of 60571 tests conducted on Tuesday gives 5,673 fresh COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday. The active cases tally on Wednesday rose to 29,378 from 27,873 the previous day, health ministry report says. The bulletin says the total number of cases is 3,70,014. Winter and air pollution are one main reason for the COVID-19 spread.
