Ahmedabad: Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has got a big relief from the Gujarat High Court. In fact, the Gujarat High Court has stayed the criminal trial against VK Saxena in the 21-year-old assault case. The Gujarat High Court has ordered a stay on the criminal trial against Saxena till VK Saxena is on the post of LG of Delhi.

According to media reports, Delhi's LG VK Saxena and three others are accused in the 2002 case of assault on social worker Medha Patkar. This case is going on in Gujarat's Ahmedabad court. VK Saxena, while pleading in the Magistrate Court of Ahmedabad, appealed to stop the criminal trial till he was on the post of LG of Delhi. But, the Ahmedabad court refused to give relief to VK Saxena. After this, Saxena had moved to the Gujarat High Court, from where VK Saxena has got relief from criminal trial till he remains on the post of LG of Delhi.

Let us tell you that there is a pending case against VK Saxena for assaulting social worker Medha Patkar in the year 2002. Apart from VK Saxena, three more people are accused in this case. Keep in mind that Medha Patkar is also considered close to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and everyone knows about the tussle with LG Saxena of the AAP government. However, the Gujarat High Court has stayed the criminal trial against VK Saxena. In such a situation, the criminal trial will continue against the other 3 accused. This case is of the year 2002 i.e. 21 years old.
