NEW DELHI: The per capita income of the national capital scaled up  by 14.18 percent at the current prices in 2022-23 to Rs 4,44,768 compared to Rs 3,89,529 during 2021-22, the Delhi Economic Survey has said.

Kailash Gahlot, the finance minister for Delhi, presented the survey to the Assembly on Monday. The survey report states that both at current prices and constant prices, the per capita income in the nation's capital has consistently been around 2.6 times higher than the national average. "The per capita income of Delhi at current prices reached the level of Rs 3,89,529 in 2021-22 as compared to Rs 3,31,112 in 2020-21. At current prices, the advance projection of Delhi's per capita income for 2022–2023 was Rs 4,44,768, representing a 14.18% increase over the previous year.

According to estimates, Delhi's per capita income at constant prices increased from Rs 2,34,569 in 2020–21 to Rs 2,52,024 in 2021–22. According to the Economic Survey, the per capita income in Delhi is anticipated to increase by 7.54 percent over the prior year to reach Rs 2,71,019 in 2022–23 when prices remain constant.

"Delhi's overall economic activity has surpassed pre-pandemic levels and has rebounded more quickly than the national average. A low base effect and the economy's intrinsic strengths will support a fast rebound of Delhi's real GSDP in the years 2021–22 and 2022–23, with growth rates of 9.14% and 9.18%, respectively, it said.
At current prices, the advance estimate of Delhi's GSDP for 2022–23 is expected to reach Rs 10,43,759 crore, an increase of 15.38% from 2021–22. The preliminary projection of Delhi's GSDP at constant prices for 2022–2023 was Rs. 6,52,649 crore, an increase of 9.18% above 2021–2022 figures.

In comparison to the pandemic-related negative growth of 19.53% in 2020–21, the tax collection saw a 36% gain in 2021–22 (provisional). According to the poll, all aspects of tax revenue will rise in 2021–2022.
