German motor vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen has begun delivering the Tiguan SUV to customers in India for the year 2021. Last month, the German automaker unveiled the five-seater SUV. It competes with other luxury five-seater SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross.

The SUV was released with a price tag of 32 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The new Tiguan is one of four SUVs that Volkswagen has confirmed would be available in the nation. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is built on Volkswagen's MQB platform, which is shared by several of the company's models. A 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine powers the vehicle. The engine has a power output of 190 horsepower and a max torque of 320Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG 4MOTION transmission by the manufacturer. This SUV will come standard with Volkswagen's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive technology.

The exterior and interior appearance of the new Tiguan SUV have also been updated. It now has a chrome-accented front grille, LED matrix headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and a new bumper with triangular fog lights. The SUV's rear looks compact with slimmer LED tail lights and Tiguan lettering moved to the centre of the tailgate.

The 2021 Tiguan SUV's dashboard is dominated by a 20.32-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital virtual cockpit driver display. The infotainment system has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities, as well as gesture control. The SUV also has a panoramic sunroof, as well as 30-color ambient lighting, automated climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Illuminated scuff plates, USB C-ports, Vienna leather seats, soft touch dashboard, and flat bottom multi-function steering wheel are among the other highlights.
