Hyderabad: Ganesh utsav committees are in a dilemma as to where to immerse the idols in Hussain Sagar and other lakes of the city after the High Court banned the immersion of idols made of POP. In the same episode DHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar IAS, representing the Telangana government, filed an interlocutory application in the contempt case on Sunday, informing the Court that Hussain Sagar and other city's idols made of POP by the Hon'ble High Court. Even before the order banning immersion in lakes, idols were procured and installed at various pandals across the city. Due to this complete ban imposed by the High Court, there will be no immersion of Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris (POP) in Hussain Sagar and other lakes of the city, the general public is unaware of where they should immerse the idols as most The idols are made of POP.

The GHMC commissioner informed the court that immersion of Ganesh idols made by POPs is impossible in 25 small ponds created in the GHMC area. Because those ponds are so small that only small idols can be immersed and the height of the idols in the city is very high. The commissioner requested the court to allow the authorities to immerse the idols from the dam side, so that the immersion can be completed by September 20, 2021.

The commissioner further assured the court that the Telangana government would take all possible measures to clean the idols and debris after the immersion of idols in lakes and plan logistics and infrastructure for immersion of Ganesh idols made by POPs in ponds. asked for enough time. The Acting Chief Justice's Bench will hear on September 13, 2021, the Interlocutory Application seeking modification of the order in the contempt case.
