Srinagar: A complaint has been lodged with the Delhi Police on the statement made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti against the national flag and the Delhi Police Commissioner has been demanded to register a case against her. Former CM of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, while giving a disputed statement on Friday, said that we will not raise the tricolour until we get our Jammu and Kashmir flag back.

Annoyed by Mehbooba's statement, Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal has sought to file a case against Mehbooba under sections 121, 151, 153A, 295, 298, 504, 505 of the IPC, including the National Honor Act. In his complaint to the Delhi Police Commissioner, Vineet Jindal has said that the disputed statement of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has served to incite people against an elected government. It also insulted the national flag of the country. Therefore legal action should be taken against her.

The Mufti had given a disputed statement that whenever our flag (J&K flag) will come back, we will also pick up that (tricolour) flag. But as long as our own flag, which has been taken by the bandits not received, we will not carry any flag in our hands. That flag is part of our mirror, it is our flag. This flag (J&K flag) has made our relationship with that flag (tricolour). "
