Co-ordinator O. Panneerselvam and co-coordinator Edappadi Palanisamy have jointly announced that the AIADMK will join the struggle if the Pennyquick Memorial House is demolished and an artist library is built on the site.

A statement issued by the two said, “The memorial house of Colonel John Penniquick, who built the Mullai Periyar Dam and led the livelihood of the people of South Tamil Nadu at his own expense amidst many obstacles, is being maintained by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Newspapers have reported that the DMK government is planning to demolish the more than a century old memorial in this situation and to confirm this, the district collector has announced that there is no possibility of English engineer Colonel John Penniquick living in the public works building to set up a library in the name of the former chief minister in Madurai.

The Court  should reconsider , saying that the decision to demolish the memorial house of Colonel John Penniquick, the builder of the Mullai Periyar Dam, and to establish a library in the artist's name there, which worked tirelessly, with perseverance, perseverance, courage and hard work for the people of Tamil Nadu, especially for the farmers, should be reconsidered. On behalf of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, we urge the Government of Tamil Nadu to take steps to form. We would also like to inform you that if the Artist Library is built at the Colonel John Penniquick Memorial House despite the opposition of the people of South Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK will jump into the struggle in favor of the farmers. ”
