Bhubaneswar, Managing Director of IDCO, along with all district Collectors and industrial houses were asked by Odisha Government on Friday to remain alert as the dengue positive cases are continuously raising in the State.

Arti Ahuja, a Principal Secretary in Health Department, has urged them to take measures to contain and prevent dengue.

The deadly virus has assumed alarming proportions in the State with 1,109 positive cases and two deaths in a month.

Ahuja has asked the industries and mining establishments to identify areas in their localities where water is stagnant and mobilize additional manpower to drain out water on a war footing.

As the mineral belt of Keonjhar district and industrial areas of Jagatpur have recorded more cases, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram met Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda and MoS Faggan Singh Kulaste at New Delhi.

Oram expressed concern about the rising cases of jaundice and dengue in Barbil and neighboring areas in Keonjhar and also requested for a team of doctors to be sent to the State to assist in managing the situation.

After that, as per the request from Oram, Nadda spoke to Health Minister of Odisha Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and discussed the dengue situation.

"The Health Ministry is ready to extend all assistance in terms of preventive and curative measures and send a team of doctors to strengthen its efforts towards management of dengue", said Nadda.
