Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh authorities have debunked rumors circulating on social media platforms about a paper leak in the UP Police Constable exam. Despite lacking evidence, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) assured students that the exam proceeded smoothly without any irregularities. The UPPBPB emphasized that the claims of a paper leak are false and urged the public not to spread misleading information.

DGP Prashant Kumar confirmed that the exam was conducted peacefully across all 2385 centers in the state over both days and in all four shifts. Senior police and administration officials monitored the process in all districts. Approximately 48 lakh candidates took the exam on February 17 and 18, 2024.

To address concerns raised on social media, the UPPBPB has formed an internal committee to investigate allegations of a paper leak and the circulation of question papers and answer sheets. The committee, led by Additional Director General (ADG) Ashok Kumar Singh, will determine further actions based on their findings. Renuka Mishra, chairperson of the recruitment board, emphasized that the committee will assess the need for improvements in future recruitment processes and verify the unverified claims made on social media.

Mishra clarified that no papers were uploaded before the exam on social media platforms, and any posts claiming otherwise surfaced after the exam. She emphasized the need to scrutinize the basis of these claims and formed an internal committee within the board to examine all relevant posts and allegations.

In total, 2,385 examination centers were set up across all districts, accommodating 48,17,441 candidates. The state government aims to recruit 60,244 police constables to bolster the police force, with exams conducted at centers across all 75 districts of the state.
