Jammu: The dense fog in Jammu in February is a surprise for the common man. People are affected by this from life to airlines. Last Sunday, February 2, 2020, there was a dense fog shadow from seven in the morning till about ten o'clock. The speed of vehicles on the road was slow. Talking about airlines, flights were canceled and the time of seven had to be changed. Where it is discovered that after one o'clock the airlines stayed on their schedule. Due to dense fog and Sunday in Jammu, people came out of their homes rarely till ten in the morning. However, after this, the fog subsided and the sun shone. According to Sonam Lotus, director of the Meteorological Center, the weather has been dry for the past one week. But due to snow on the mountains, the humidity is taking the form of light clouds and it is causing dense fog.

It is being said that there will be relief from fog after light rain in the state on February 4. Increase in minimum temperature was observed at maximum places in Kashmir, which gave people mild relief from the cold. Srinagar recorded a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Gulmarg was minus 12.2 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 8.9 degrees Celsius, while Leh recorded a low of minus 15.3 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was 5.6 degrees in Jammu and 5.1 degrees Celsius in Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
