NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised all those involved in the almost 40-hour-long rescue mission following the ropeway mishap in Jharkhand, saying the country admired their bravery.

After stuck cable cars hung midair near the Trikut Hills in Deoghar, three people died and several others were injured. After the cable cars collided on Sunday, the accident occurred, resulting in a huge rescue operation that lasted until Tuesday.

"For three days, round the clock, you completed a difficult rescue operation and saved the lives of many people in the country," Modi said, virtually interacting with personnel from the Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Deoghar rescue mission reflected sensitivity, resourcefulness, and courage, adding that the 'Sabka Prayas' played a key role in it.

"Country is happy that we have a skilled force in the form of our armed forces, Air Force, ITBP, NDRF, Jharkhand police, and Deoghar district administration," Modi said while interacting with members of the Indian Army, Air Force, ITBP, NDRF, Jharkhand police, and Deoghar district administration. "You worked nonstop for three days and nights to conduct a tough rescue mission that saved the lives of many of your people. I also attribute it to Baba Vaidyanath ji's grace "he stated

Modi noted the recognition and image that the NDRF has established for itself through their bravery and hard work, adding that the country recognises the NDRF's courage.

The Prime Minister praised the pilots' skills in piloting the chopper so close to the wires, while IAF Sergeant Pankaj Kumar Rana recounted the role of Garud commandos in rescuing people in the cable car's harsh conditions and amid the passengers' misery, including children and women.
