The fact that Depression is a major cause behind the increasing frequency of heart diseases, is no more a secret. As per the reports presented by a survey that studied the patients of a cardiac disorder, it was postulated that about 60% of the patients, who suffered from depression and Insomnia, eventually died of a cardiac failure. In most of the cases, depression and insomnia remained unidentified until the time, they proved fatal.

Depression and anxiety disorder are basically diagnosed under the class of psychiatry, hence are often left untreated due to lack of awareness.

Experts explain that depression causes changes in the blood pressure, therefore imposing risk on the heart's health.

Also, for patients suffering from depression and anxiety, it becomes quite difficult to follow the diet plan alloted to them by the medical professionals.
Depression also leads to a disturbed metabolism since it suffers alterations in the levels of several hormones. Many of these hormones interfere with the heart rate. It is therefore suggested that a healthy lifestule leads to a healthy heart.
