New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of the labour office in north-west Delhi. The deputy CM and the Labour minister conducted surprise inspections after receiving complaints of irregularities in the registration of construction workers in the Labour Office. In about a dozen cases between the inspections, the complaints were found to be correct, Sisodia issued an order to dismiss the manager of the Labour Office with immediate effect.

At the same time, he has ordered the inspection Labour officers to do all the work relating to registration and welfare of labourers as per rules and within a definite time period. The north-west Delhi Labour office has also seen complaints of irregularities in the registration of construction workers. Thereafter, on Tuesday morning, deputy CM took up the complaints by conducting surprise inspections of the office.

Know the reason: It has revealed that these complaints have also seen negligence in the registration documents of some workers, such as the pictures of a woman instead of a man. Some cases include irregularities like presenting the office for registration of the worker and applying the earlier photograph instead of live photograph. The deputy CM ordered the Labour authorities that all the work relating to proper benefits to the terms and labour welfare schemes should be done at the moment. Manish Sisodia directed the officials that when the government has formulated schemes for the welfare of the construction workers, the benefits should be given to all deserving people. No negligence will be tolerated.
