Kabul: There has been a second bomb blast in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan within 2 days. At least 11 people have been killed in the bomb blast in the mosque. Reports quoted Taliban officials as saying that prayers were being offered in the mosque for the funeral of the Taliban's provincial deputy governor when the blast took place. The death toll in the accident may increase further, as more than 30 people are still injured, some of whom are in critical condition.  

According to the Interior Ministry, the provincial deputy governor was also killed in an attack a few days ago, in his memory, prayers were being offered at the site of the accident. According to Abdul Nafi Takor, a Taliban-appointed spokesman for the Interior Ministry, police officers were among those killed in the blast near the Nabawi mosque on Thursday. Takor said it was feared that the death toll could rise further. Deputy Governor Nisar Ahmed Ahmadi and his driver were killed and 10 others injured in a terror attack in Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan.

Badakhshan Deputy Governor Nisar Ahmed Ahmadi was killed in a car bomb blast on Tuesday. Safiullah Samim, a former Afghan police chief in Baghlan, was killed in the blast on Thursday, said Moazuddin Ahmadi, an Afghan official in charge of communications and culture.
